Svajone (Dream) are a youth orchestra from Alytus, LIthuania. The musicians are aged between 13 and 23. The orchestra have played many concerts in mainland Europe, but this was their first visit to England, where they played 3 concerts. These recordings are from the first event, held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in Crawley (who kindly let us use the Church for free to hold the concert). They also played in Crawley town square, and the final concert was at the Crawley International Mela Festival, where they opened proceedings o the Sunday afternoon. All three concerts where very well received, hopefully they will return to the UK in 2014. Their are 49 musicians in the orchestra, plus 2 conductors. The groups transport to the UK was made possible by the town council in Alytus, and their accommodation was sponsored by Crawley based Eastern Stream Association. The whole trip would not have been possible without the huge amount of work done by Valerijus Vilcinskas who established contact in LIthuania, filled in funding applications, arranged accommodation and the concerts. Thanks to Valerijus and everyone at Eastern Stream.
